UDYOG AADHAAR MEMORANDUM

Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises through a Notification No. S.O.S.O. 2576(E), dated18th September 2015 under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises or MSMED Act, 2006 notified that, in order to obtain registration, every unit shall file Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (“U.A.M.”) only. Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum registration will enable the enterprises to seek information and apply online about various benefits being offered by the Ministries and Departments in India. in the past, only medium enterprises were insisted to file EM2 as it was very cumbersome to file, the simplified application for

Udyog Aadhaar will enable all units to register themselves so that simply by applying for Udyog Aadhaar Number, they can access services offered by the various departments. The process of obtaining Udyog Aadhaar Number is free-of-cost, paperless, and results in instant registration.

Wording from the Notification issued by the Department in this regard.

i there shall be no fee for filing the Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum;

ii Application for Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum will be filed online at http://udyogaadhaar.gov.in;

iii If online not possible then file application physically in Annexure 1, U.A.M. Acknowledgment as per Annexure 2 shall be mailed to the email. The address provided in the U.A.M. which shall contain unique Udyog Aadhaar Number;

iv Existing enterprises, prior to the enforcement of the MSMED, 2006 (27 of 2006) are not be required to file Udyog Aadhaar

Memorandum, but if they want, they may also submit the Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum;

v in filing the U.A.M., the Aadhaar card Number of the person who is authorized should be provided. There are no restrictions on filing more than 1 U.A.M. using the same Aadhar Number;

vi The U.A.M. shall be filed on a self-declaration basis, and no supporting documents are required to be uploaded while filling the U.A.M. MSME Registrations

PROCEDURE OF FILING UDYOG AADHAAR FORM

1 Aadhaar Number – ENTER 12 digit Aadhaar number of the Applicant and enter the OTP sent on mobile number linked to aadhaar.

2 Name of Owner- Applicant is required to fill his/her name as mentioned on the Aadhaar Card issued by U.I.D.A.I. 

3 To Validate Aadhaar:-

4 Validate Aadhaar- The Applicant must click on the Validate Aadhaar button for verification

of Aadhaar after that only the user can fill the form further.

5 Reset- The applicant can reset details by clicking on the reset button.

6 Social Category- the Applicant then select the Social Category (General, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Castes (O.B.C.). 

7 Name of Enterprise- the Applicant shall fill the name by which his/her Enterprise. An Applicant can have more than 1 enterprise doing business, and each one can be registered for against separate Udyog Aadhaar number and with the same Aadhaar Number as Enterprise 1 and Enterprise 2, etc. MSME Registrations

8 Type of Organization- the Applicant then select from the given list the appropriate type of the organization of its Enterprises. The Applicant must ensure that he/she is authorized by the entity.

9 Postal Address- Complete postal address is to be filled address of the Enterprise including State, District, Pin code, Mobile No and Email.

10 Date of Commencement- Date on which the business entity commenced its operations may be filled in the appropriate field

11 Previous Registration Details- If the Applicant Enterprise, for which the Udyog Aadhaar is being applied, is already issued a valid EMI/II by the concerned G.M.G.M. (D.I.C.) as per the M.S.M.E.D. Act 2006 or the S.S.I. registration, such a number may be mentioned in the appropriate place.

12 Bank Detail- The applicant must provide his/her details of the bank account used for running the Enterprise in the appropriate place. The Applicant must also provide the I.F.S.C.

Code of the Bank branch where his/her mentioned account exists. 3 Major Activity- Major activities i.e., either “Manufacturing” or “Service,” may be chosen by the Enterprise for Udyog Aadhaar.

14 N.I.C. Code- the Applicant may choose as appropriate National Industrial Classification-2008 (N.I.C.) Code for the selected “Major Activity.” The N.I.C. codes are prepared by theCentral Statistical Organisation (C.S.O.) under the Ministry of Statistics and Program

Implementation, Government of India.

15 A person employed- The total Number of people who are directly paid salary/ wages shall be mentioned in the appropriate field.

16 Investment in Plant & Machinery /Equipment- While computing the total investment to be filled in the form, the investment ie., the purchase value of items is to be taken into account excluding

the cost of pollution control, industrial safety devices, research and development, and such notified items. 

17 D.I.C.- the Applicant, based on the location of the Enterprise, has to fill in the location of

D.I.C. 

18 Submit- The Applicant must click on the Submit button to generate the Acknowledgment number.
